The Diwali festive season is upon us and this week is all about feasts and festivities with friends and loved ones. What better way to celebrate the festive week than to binge-watch much-awaited movies on OTT platforms. All major OTT platforms in the country have lined up a bevy of films for viewers to watch.

1. Oke Oka Jeevitham – Tamil, Telugu, SonyLIV, October 20
Oke Oka Jeevitham is a Telugu and Tamil bi-lingual film, with the unique concept of a family drama merged with the sci-fi theme of time travel. Directed by Shree Karthik, produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, and stars Sharwanand, Amala Akkineni and Ritu Varma.
2. Bimbisara – Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, ZEE5, October 21
Bimbisara is yet another Telugu time-travel film, set in the backdrop of history and mythology. Written and directed by Mallidi Vassishta, produced by N. T. R. Arts, and stars Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha Menon, Prakash Raj, Vivaan Bhatena, Vennela Kishore, Srinivas Reddy, Brahmaji, among others.
3. Liger – Hindi, Disney Plus Hotstar, October 21
Liger is an action drama and triumph of the underdog film, set in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. The Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions of the film began streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar in September itself. The Hindi version streams on the platform this Diwali weekend. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, starring Vijay Deverakonda, Ananya Panday, Ronit Roy and Ramya Krishnan.
4. Mike – Malayalam, Manorama Max, October 21
The film marks John Abraham’s Malayalam debut as a producer. Directed by Vishnu Sivaprasad, Mike stars Anaswara Rajan as a young girl who wants to surgically reassign her gender, and Ranjith Sajeev as a once exuberant but now hopeless young man.
5. Kapata Nataka Sutradhari – Telugu, Aha Video, October 21
Directed by Kranthi Saina, and starring Vijay Shankar, Sampath Kumar, Chandulal, Bhanu Chander, Sunitha Sadguru, among others, Kapata Nataka Sutradhari is a Telugu language action thriller that revolves around a bank scam of 200 kg gold worth 99 crores.
6. Krishna Vrinda Vihari – Telugu, Netflix, October 23
Krishna Vrinda Vihari is a Telugu romantic comedy film, directed by Anish R. Krishna and produced by Usha Mulpuri under the banner of Ira Creations. The film stars Naga Shaurya and Shirley Setia.
7. Brahmastra – Hindi, Disney Plus Hotstar, October 23 (TBA)
Brahmastra is a Hindi language fantasy drama centres on an orphan who is actually an astra, a weapon of enormous energy, with the power to control fire, and who must help prevent the Brahmāstra from falling into the hands of evil forces. ‘Brahmastra’ is written and directed by Ayan Mukerji. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni in pivotal roles.
