Doctor Strange 2: Expected Returns and Debuts in the MCU Sequel

Doctor Strange breached the Multiverse in Spider-Man No Way Home. As a result, he will face dire consequences of his botched spell in the upcoming sequel. Now, we can expect tons of notable characters to re-appear or debut in DS’s sequel with the opening of the Multiverse. Will we witness a sea of extradimensional variants popping up in the movie? Let’s find out!

Return of Wanda’s children, Speed and Wiccan

The first official trailer of Multiverse of Madness showed Strange arriving at Wanda’s to ask her help. There’s no doubt that Wanda will play a crucial role in DS 2. With her powers unlocked, she is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe right now. And we also know that she lost her children, Speed and Wiccan, after the destruction of Westview in the WandaVision series. She loved the twins with all her heart, even though her uncontrollable powers were responsible for their creation in the first place. The same goes for Vision as well.

Additionally, we know that Wanda heard the voices of her children in the end-credit scene of WandaVision. With the Darkhold in her possession, she may try to get them back.

Will Loki and the TVA appear in Doctor Strange 2?

If we consider that the opening of the Multiverse first took place in the Loki series, then we can’t ignore the chances of the God of Mischief and his TVA allies to emerge in Doctor Strange 2. Apart from Loki, we can also expect Sylvie and Mobius to make a brief appearance in the forthcoming sequel.

The Illuminati’s Debut: Will we see Professor X or Mister Fantastic in the Doctor Strange sequel?

The rumours of The Illuminati’s much-anticipated debut in the Multiverse of Madness are everywhere these days. Fans want the secret society of superheroes to make their grand entrance in the Doctor Strange sequel. It means the returns of Mister Fantastic and Professor X are on the table. The former will also appear in MCU’s Fantastic Four with Jon Watts at the helm. Several reports have claimed that the duo of Reed Richards and Charles Xavier will appear as part of The Illuminati in Doctor Strange 2.

What about Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine?

Several rumours have stated that Kevin Feige wanted Hugh Jackman to have a cameo in the Multiverse of Madness. But Jackman’s unavailability forced the makers to bury that idea for good. The Australian actor bid farewell to the character of Wolverine in James Mangold’s Logan. So, the chances of his MCU debut are low. Plus, we don’t know if Marvel has roped in another actor to fill Jackman’s shoes in DS 2.

Will What If’s Captain Carter Return in the Multiverse of Madness?

The creators of MCU’s animated series, What If…?, have confirmed that Captain Carter will re-emerge in future Marvel instalments. And the executives possess a golden chance to make that happen in DS 2. Hayley Atwell donned the character in previous MCU instalments where she romanced Steve Rogers and co-founded S.H.I.E.L.D with Tony Stark’s father, Anthony Stark. Captain Carter may make her live-action debut in DS 2 with Atwell in the suit.

Doctor Strange 2’s merchandise teases Sleepwalker’s debut

Sleepwalker is known to travel through dreams via his supernatural powers. His host body remains asleep during his inter-dream voyage. The recent merchandise of Doctor Strange 2 has teased the debut of the superhero character. We don’t know what he will do in the future MCU entries. But his entrance may garner a surprising reaction from the audience.

Ultron to work for The Illuminati in Doctor Strange sequel

The Illuminati’s debut in the Doctor Strange sequel may bring Ultron or his sentries back from the dead. Several rumours have hinted that the antagonist of Avengers 2 may end up following the orders of The Illuminati. The secret society may utilise Ultron’s army to balance the aftermath of the Multiverse’s breach.
