‘Doctor Strange’ Actor Cast Opposite Tom Hardy In ‘Venom’ Sequel

After the box office successes of Tom Hardy’s superhero movie ‘Venom’ and its sequel ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’, Sony and Marvel are now gearing up for the third ‘Venom’ movie, which is currently in the works. ‘Venom 3’ was officially announced to be under development in April 2022 and began pre-production work in February 2023. Besides Tom Hardy, it was previously revealed that ‘Ted Lasso’ star Juno Temple will play an important role in ‘Venom 3’.

In an exciting piece of update, ‘Venom 3’ has now cast British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor opposite the titular protagonist played by Tom Hardy. However, the precise details about which role he will be playing in the film are currently not known. Kelly Marcel, who had written the screenplay for the first two ‘Venom’ films will be directing the upcoming ‘Venom’ sequel and she is also writing the screenplay based on a story which she had co-written with Tom Hardy.

Coming back to Chiwetel Ejiofor’s casting in ‘Venom 3’, it’s certainly good news for franchise fans. The Primetime Emmy and BAFTA winning actor has delivered some fine performances after making his acting debut in Steven Spielberg’s historical drama movie ‘Amistad’. Thereafter, he has showcased his acting chops in Steve McQueen’s ‘12 Years A Slave’, Ridley Scott’s sci-fi drama ‘The Martian’, and more recently in Sam Raimi’s superhero movie ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’. The 45-year-old actor will next be seen in the sci-fi rom-com ‘The Pod Generation’ co-starring Emilia Clarke and in the sequel to the Netflix superhero movie ‘The Old Guard’.

As of now, the plot details of ‘Venom 3’ are shrouded in secrecy like every other Marvel movie. Interestingly, Sony’s Spider-Man universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) running parallelly have been linked through the multiverse. It remains to be seen whether any MCU characters could possibly crossover and make an appearance in ‘Venom 3’. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on the ‘Venom’ sequel.
