The second season of ‘The Test: A New Era for Australia’s Team’ is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It is a documentary series that tells the story of the Australian cricket team and how they try to regain their reputation and winning ways.
The series is produced by Amazon Studios and co-produced by Cricket Australia. It is directed by director Adrian Brown and the second season is co-directed by Sheldon Wynne. The pilot episode of the 1st season premiered on the 12th of March, 2020 and it consisted of 8 episodes.
The Test features Australian cricketers of tremendous fame and players from other countries as well. It has Tim Paine, Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, David Warner, Justin Langer, Marcus Harris, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Marnus Labuschagne, Jhye Richardson, Usman Khawaja, Brad Haddin, Aaron Finch and many more in the show.
The first season was all about the Australian cricket team’s fall from grace after the ball tampering scandal and the team’s way back to redemption under the leadership of Tim Paine. The second season follows the story where Tim Paine has to resign because of improper conduct and the coach Langer too has to leave the team. It is a wonderfully told documentary which will make you empathize with the players and you will want to have the team back on its tracks on its winning streaks. Australia defeats England in the well known Ashes series in 2021-2022.
If you are a cricket fan this is a must watch for you. There are only 4 episodes in the second season and the episodes are small and engaging. The Test is definitely a very wellade documentary and will impress lovers of the genre. You can watch it on Amazon Prime Video.
