Donald Glover To Write ‘Lando’ Disney+ Star Wars Series

Oh, yeah! Lando will return for sure! Donald Glover and his brother Stephen will pen the ‘Lando’ series for the Disney+ streaming platform. The actor played the iconic Star Wars character in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’, starring alongside Alden Ehrenreich, who played the legendary Han Solo in the film. The Glover Brothers have replaced Justin Simien (helmer of Disney’s Haunted Mansion), who has left the project due to unknown reasons.

Veteran actor Billy Dee Williams has portrayed Lando Calrissian in ‘The Empire Strikes Back’, ‘Return of the Jedi’, and ‘The Rise of Skywalker’.

The plot of the forthcoming Star Wars entry is under wraps right now. We last witnessed Glover’s Lando losing the Millenium Falcon to Han Solo in the final moments of the 2018 film.

Fans may see Lando trying to build his name in the upcoming Disney+ series. The show is expected to take place when the Galactic Empire was at the peak of its strength. His cleverness is not enough to ensure his survival. He needs reliable and skilled allies who can aid him in getting the power and fame he wants. We can also expect Ehrenreich’s Solo and Jabba the Hutt to make cameo appearances in the series, as they were alive during this period.

As for Q’ira (Emilia Clarke), she becomes an influential figure in the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate in the 2018 film. The flick also reveals that she has joined hands with Darth Maul. Her inclusion in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff will add a new and intriguing layer to Lando’s arc. So, we should expect to see Q’ira in the show as well.

Lucasfilm is yet to reveal the release window of Donald Glover’s ‘Lando’ Disney+ series. You can watch ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ on Disney+ Hotstar. Stay tuned for more updates.
