Don’t Forget To Stream These A24 Titles!

American entertainment company A24 has had a fantastic year so far. With recurring headline appearances, the studio has released some of the highest-grossing movies of 2024.

Most recently, the ominous and dystopian ‘Civil War’, directed by Alex Garland was the indie studio’s highest-budgeted film yet. The risk, however, paid off as the title has been No. 1 at the international box office for two consecutive weeks now.

Keeping that in mind, lets rewind and take a walk down some of A24’s best star-studded, critically acclaimed features over the years!

1. The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) – Prime Video

Surgeon Steven Mercy takes an awkward teenager, Martin, under his wing. But things get bad for the Murphys when they find out that Martin has an underlying sinister agenda of his own.

2. Uncut Gems (2019) – Netflix

The story of a charismatic jeweller who makes a high-stakes bet that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime. In this high-risk, high-reward act, he must learn to balance business, family, and adversaries on all sides in pursuit of the ultimate win.

3. Moonlight (2016) – Prime Video

The Academy-award winning feature follows Chiron, a young African-American boy, as he finds guidance in Juan, a drug dealer, who teaches him to carve his own path. As he grows up in Miami, Juan’s advice leaves a lasting imprint.

4. Aftersun (2022) – Mubi

At a disappearing vacation resort, 11-year-old Sophie treasures rare time together with her loving and idealistic father, Calum. Twenty years later, Sophie’s delicate recollections of their last holiday become a powerful portrayal of their relationship.

5. Hereditary (2018) – Prime Video

Regarded as one of Toni Collette’s most powerful performances, the film is centered around Annie and her griveing family in the aftermath of Annie’s mother’s death. Soon, strange things start occurring and the horrifying truth about Annie’s ancestry begins to come to light.

6. Midsommar (2019) – Apple TV+

Dani’s psychological trauma affects her relationship with Christian. However, when they visit their friend’s ancestral commune to mend things, it changes their lives forever: and not in a good way!

7. The Whale (2022) – SonyLiv

In a small town in Idaho, Charlie, a reclusive and unhealthy English teacher, hides out in his flat and eats his way to death. The film follows him along his desperate attempts to reconnect with his teenage daughter for a last chance at redemption.

8. Ex-Machina (2014) – Netflix

The story of Caleb Smith, a young programmer, gets a chance to partake in a strange scientific experiment where he is expected to assess artificial intelligence by interacting with a female robot.

9. Priscilla (2023) – Mubi

When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the meteoric rock ‘n’ roll superstar becomes a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, and a vulnerable best friend.

10. Minari (2020) – Lionsgate Play

A Korean American family moves to an Arkansas farm in search of their American dream. Amidst the challenges of a new life in the strange and rugged Ozarks, they discover the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a house, a home.

11. Pearl (2022) – Netflix

The first installment in a 3 -part series depicting a young girl’s violent and brutal pursuit to fame and glamour. The film is followed by ‘X’ and ‘MaXXXine’, upcoming later this year. The films catapulted actress Mia Goth to widespread recognition.
