Netflix is giving a tough competition to its competitors and is taking new routes to expand its base in India. Netflix had already released 10 documentaries/short films on its YouTube channel globally, now it has made this foray into Netflix India as well. It recently came up with “Home Stories”, a series of four short films amalgamated together to form a documentary. These stories chronicle the lives of different people and how they face the sudden 3 weeks lockdown announced by the government in the wake of covid – 19 pandemic.
Let’s have a look on what it entails.
1) Out With It
The first film titled ‘Out With It’, is based on the theme of mental health. It’s a story of an anxious and stressed man who struggles to go out in his normal life and when finally he gathers the courage to do so lockdown happens.
2) Will You Be My Quarantine
This one revolves around a couple that met for the purpose of one night stand but it got extended to three weeks due to lockdown. How their relationship evolves form bitter sweet moments to friendship during this time period is the crux of the story.
3) Delivering Smiles
The story conveys an important message of how important empathy is towards people we come across in our lives. It shows how the delivery executive Prakash meets different types of people during the lockdown and how they behave with him. It highlights the fact that there are people who are doing their jobs even in a scenario like this just to make our lives comfortable.
4) Web Ne Bana Di Jodi
The fourth one ‘Web Ne Bana Di Jodi’ is the story of a couple who are trying to get married during the lockdown using technology. How things turn up and down and yet they finally manage to get married is what the story is all about.
These are all relateble stories in some aspects and when all this gets over we can look back and have that nostalgic feeling of ‘those times’.
