‘The Stranger’ is a film which is based on Kate Kyriacou’s highly rated book ‘The Sting: The Undercover Operation That Caught Daniel Morcombe’s Killer’, which was published in the year 2015. It narrated the tale of a confounding child abduction and murder case which happened in Queensland, Australia and the resulting sensational sting operation by the police.
‘The Stranger’ features Joel Edgerton (Thirteen Lives, Zero Dark Thirty) and Sean Harris (Mission Impossible: Fallout, The Green Knight) as two strangers Mark and Henry, who meet during a bus journey. The two strangers begin to converse and strike a friendship. Both these men are hiding secrets from each other. One of them is an elusive suspect in a missing person investigation and the other is an undercover cop.
‘The Stranger’ has been written and directed by Thomas M. Wright, who had also helmed the star studded 2015 survival adventure film ‘Everest’.
‘The Stranger’ has received a highly impressive critics score of 95% on reviews aggregation portal Rotten Tomatoes.
