The father of the Alien film franchise, Ridley Scott, is considered a maestro of sci-fi and historical movies. When it comes to sci-fi, the director has delivered some outstanding films such as Alien (1979), Blade Runner (1982), The Martian (2015), and more. For many cinephiles, Prometheus (2012) is Scott’s one of the most underrated films. It is currently available on Disney+ Hotstar.
Prometheus takes place in the late 21st century and revolves around the crew members of the titular spaceship. To seek the origins of humanity, the crew lands on a distant world. However, things turn upside down after they discover a threat that could wipe out the entire human race.
The film benefits immensely from its gorgeous CGI and outstanding performances from the cast members, particularly Michael Fassbender. The actor delivers his career-best performance as android David in this film. Apart from him, the rest of the cast, consisting of Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, and Noomi Rapace perform brilliantly. The design of the creatures in the film looks grotesque but impressive. Overall, it is a well-made sci-fi horror.
On Rotten Tomatoes, Prometheus has a ‘fresh’ score of 73 percent, based on over 310 certified reviews. The duo of Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof penned down the film’s screenplay. Stream it now on Disney+ Hotstar.
