Nani’s action thriller film ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ just released a few days ago but this isn’t his and Vivek Athreya’s first film together. They have previously worked on romantic comedy drama ‘Ante Sundaraniki’ which though did not do well at the domestic box office, won critical acclaim and is such a sweet film that you should definitely give this one a go with your loved one.
Currently streaming on Netflix, ‘Ante Sundaraniki’ follows childhood friends Sundar (Nani) and Leela (Nazriya Fahadh) who fall in love on growing up and coming from different religious backgrounds, they hatch a plan to persuade their conservative families to accept their interfaith romance. A lot goes haywire in between and almost nothing goes according to plan but the end will not disappoint as it’s a happy one.
‘Ante Sundaraniki’ is one of those films that will have you rooting for the characters, in a fun way, despite the lies they tell. The performances are stellar, both Nani and Nazriya being so perfect in their characters as Sunder and Leela. Running on thin lines and handling religion, comedy and romance, director Athreya has managed to do it pretty well. It is one heartwarming film that will make you smile and believe in love.
If you are looking for something sweet and light to catch up on this weekend, Nani’s ‘Ante Sundaraniki’ streaming on Netflix is an eligible candidate.
