Suriya aficionados can be sure that this year will be nothing short of a fiesta for them, as Suriya is gearing up to take Kollywood by storm in 2024. Currently heavily involved with the production of the period drama Kanguva, Suriya has only furthered the excitement among audiences everywhere. Kanguva stars Disha Patani, as well as Bobby Deol.
Industry trades have praised the sheer greatness of the movie from whatever bits and pieces they have been exclusively exposed to so far, and have also pointed to an imminent teaser release that promises to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Bobby Deol will assume the role of a menacing adversary, Udhiran in the movie and is set to deliver a terrific and impactful performance as an antagonist. Kanguva also promises a multilingual launch so as to cater to a wider audience. Amidst productions, there had also been an incident where Suriya was slightly injured by a camera that fell loose, which prompted a halt in filming for a while.
Looking ahead this year, Suriya is also set to embark on another blockbuster venture, partnering up with director Sudha Kongara for his next project which is temporarily titled ‘Suriya 43’, featuring a dazzling cast of Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Fahadh and Vijay Varma. It is touted to be named as “1965 Poorananooru”and will be inspired from real life events. The plot is supposedly revolving around the story of a Madurai based mobster who is out for revenge, set against the backdrop of the anti-Hindi imposition movement between the period of 1950 to 1965. All in all, fans and viewers are in for a treat as this year promises to be phenomenal for the industry.
