The much-awaited trailer for Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming film ‘Dream Girl 2‘ is finally here. For those who don’t know, Dream Girl 2 is a spiritual sequel to Ayushmann Khurrana’s hit 2019 film, Dream Girl. Dream Girl 2 releases in theatres on 25th August, 2023.
While the premise of the new film is similar to the debut film Dream Girl, the situations are definitely different, as is Ayushmann Khurrana’s love interest in the film. Dream Girl 2 will see Ayushmann Khurrana’s Karam and his father (Annu Kapoor) laden with debts, to pay off which, he will have to reprise his role of female phone chat operator, Pooja.
The Dream Girl 2 trailer gives us more hint of the chaotic story at the heart of the movie, involving a rich heir (Abhishek Banerjee), his disciplinarian father (Paresh Rawal), and of course, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Pooja. Abhishek Banerjee will play a bigger role in the sequel than he did in the debut film.
Nushrratt Bharuccha played Ayushmann Khurrana’s love interest in the original film. Ananya Panday plays his new love interest in Dream Girl 2. Most of the primary cast returns in Dream Girl 2, including Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz and Abhishek Banerjee. Both Vijay Raaz and Abhishek Banerjee essay new characters in the film, though. The new faces in Dream Girl 2 include Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Rahul Ranjan and Seema Pahwa.
Dream Girl 2 is written and directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, and co-written by Naresh Kathooria. It is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under their film production banner, Balaji Motion Pictures.
