Dream Slate Orders Biopic For India’s 1st Female IPS Kiran Bedi!

The production house Dream Slate Pictures has ordered a film based on the life and works of Kiran Bedi, the first Indian woman to be an officer in the Indian Police Services. The film has been titled ‘Bedi: The Name You Know. The Story You Don’t’.

The movie will be written and directed by Kushaal Chawla and produced by Gaurav Chawla. It will be documenting Kiran Bedi’s journey as a young woman with dreams to the heights of success and responsibility. Bedi cleared the UPSC exams and joined IPS in 1972. She earned fame for her campaign against drugs and for the reforms in various jails. She was awarded with the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay and various other awards for her works. She was and continues to be a huge inspiration for the Indian student. Having a dedicated and well researched biopic on her will be a huge thing.

The screenplay is in progress and the casting is not done yet. Kiran Bedi is definitely India’s most loved cop and portraying her role will be a major turn in the career of any actress. Bedi herself expressed excitement and happiness and has said, “This story is not just my story. It’s an Indian woman’s story – an Indian woman who grew up in India, studied in India, raised by Indian parents, and worked for the people of India throughout her career.”
