Dulquer Salmaan Drops Salute Poster, Still Silent About Release

The last couple of days have been a bit of a roller coaster ride for Dulquer Salmaan fans. With the spread of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 virus and the discovery of Deltacron, latest reports suggested that the Malayalam actor’s latest film, ‘Salute’, will have its theatrical release postponed. With highly anticipated Indian films like ‘RRR’ and ‘Jersey’ also having had their theatrical premieres postponed, this news seems quite possible. However, Dulquer Salmaan, ‘Salute’s’ lead actor and producer, has not provided any update regarding the latest rumour. In fact, the actor dropped a new look poster for the same film, but he didn’t address theatrical release concerns. Does this mean that the ‘Salute’s’ release is still on the same date?

The state of Kerela has removed night/ second shows and new reports suggest that there could be another curfew or similar restrictions happening around the state. There was already a 10 pm – 5 am curfew in Kerala for a few days after the New Year as well. With the number of various Covid-19 related cases still rising, we could likely get out third theatrical lockdown if this “trend” continues.

However, through all this, Dulquer hasn’t said anything about his film’s release date on social media besides the tweet mentioned below:

With online booking for the film now available on various websites, it is safe to say that for the time being, the film is still expected to drop on its original release date – 14th January 2022. However, this could easily change in a day or so, so we will be keeping an eye out for any news regarding ‘Salute‘ and its current release date.
