The teaser for Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘King of Kotha’ is now out and it’s a thrilling action packed drama. Helmed by Abhilash Joshiy, ‘King of Kotha’ will release in theatres this August in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
‘King of Kotha’ teaser begins with a tale that talks about the return of a king who is the only one who can save people’s land from the demon that devoured their children. When they finally believe that this King has returned they welcome him with a festival like celebration.
What happens next is this King’s fight for these people and ruling the kingdom of Kotha on his own terms. There’s elements of fire, blood, rawness, gang wars, crime, mass masala, and a lot of action that will keep you hooked. Also, Dulquer Salmaan’s rustic look towards the end of the teaser is something to look out for.
‘King of Kotha’ is directed by Abhilash Joshiy and is described as an action gangster noir film set in a fictional town. The film is touted to be a full on massy entertainer with perfectly timed clap points, catchy songs, and elevation sequences to satisfy the audience.
The film is written by Abhilash N. Chandran and other than Dulquer ‘King of Kotha’ stars Aishwarya Lakshmi as female lead and Shabeer Kallarakkal as the antagonist. Gokul Suresh, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sudhi Koppa, Nyla Usha and Shanthi Krishna are other cast members for the film.
Nimish Ravi handles cinematography for ‘King of Kotha’ while editing is done by Shyam Sasidharan. Film’s score is composed by Jakes Bejoy and the songs are composed by Jales Bejoy and Shaan Rehman separately.
Produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films alongside Zee Studios, ‘King of Kotha’ will release in theatres on Onam 2023 (24th August, 2023) in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
