The trailer for the highly anticipated film, ‘Kurup‘ has finally dropped… And it is pretty much everything you hoped for. Heavily stylized, cryptic, good background score and cinematography. This much-awaited trailer was dropped on Dulquer Salmaan‘s official YouTube channel, barely an hour ago and this promo got released in five languages – Malayalam (original), Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. The trailer pretty much sells itself and it gives us a small (fictionalized) look into the mind of India’s longest wanted criminal, Sukumara Kurup. The trailer starts off with one of Sukumara Kurup’s famous deeds – calling and taunting the cops while on the run. Dulquer Salmaan, who portrays Sukumara Kurup, looks iconic and we understand the character was training to be a police officer at one point. He is looked down upon by multiple people and he resolves to do better for himself. We see the character’s naked ambition as well as his ruthlessness on screen. The (in)famous insurance policy is mentioned in the trailer as well.
Two days ago, the Dulquer Salmaan starring and producing feature film, ‘Kurup’ dropped its first single in five different languages, which amassed over 2 million views in 2 days. From this short promo, we knew that Kurup was a cop already and that he was staying in Government assigned quarters while undergoing his special training. The hype behind this film is real, and we are only days away from the film finally releasing.
The highly anticipated crime thriller, ‘Kurup’ will premiere in theatres on November 12th 2021.
