Dulquer Salman’s production company, Wayfarer films which just started last year, has taken on over 6 projects since that time period and most of them did well at the box office. Wayfarer films made (the) headlines today, for the two big film announcements that the production company is funding. The first announcement was about the movie Puzhu, which will star Dulquer’s father, the megastar Mammootty. The second announcement was a poster reveal for Dulquer’s next starring role – Salute.
Puzhu was announced earlier today, by the megastar Mammootty himself on his social media accounts. He will star opposite Malayalam actress Parvathy Thiruvothu and it will be their first ever film collaboration together. With Wayfarer films funding the production of Puzhu, it will also be the first time for Dulquer Salman’s production company to professionally collaborate with his father, Mammootty. Puzhu will be directed by first time debutant, Ratheena Sharshad. Nothing much about the movie has been announced as of yet, but with the movie’s announcement being on International Women’s Day and the director being a woman herself as mentioned earlier, many reports are coming in which suggest that this film will be a women-centric movie. We will have to wait and see to check if there is any truth behind these speculations.
After multiple teasing posters on Instagram and Twitter, Dulquer Salman finally released the first look poster of his upcoming production-starrer – Salute. Dressed in the familiar khaki uniform of a police officer, we can see Dulquer posing against a bullet in the poster, while sporting a classic “Mallu” mustache. Bollywood actress Diana Penty will be making her Mollywood debut in Salute. The actress joined the movie shoot last month which character actor Manoj K. Jayan is already a part of. The film is written by the brother writers – Bobby-Sanjay and it is directed by Rosshan Andrrews.
The release dates for these two movies haven’t been announced as of yet, but there is a very good chance both films will release in this year – in 2021.
