Dune Part 2 needs no introduction. The movie arrived with rage on the big screens and people did some crazy shit to watch it. They would dress differently and some people even manufactured a sandworm. So, there is another update from the magnanimous film.
Denis Villeneuve’s highly celebrated film, “Dune Part 2,” is getting ready for its digital premiere on JioCinema. Following a successful theatrical run worldwide, the film will be available for streaming starting May 21st in India. Yes, a few more days.
“Dune Part 2” made waves at the box office, crossing the $500 million mark globally in March. Its opening weekend saw impressive figures, with over $80 million earned in the US and over $95 million in international markets.
Based on the second half of Frank Herbert’s iconic 1965 sci-fi novel, the film follows the journey of Paul Atreides, portrayed by Timothee Chalamet, as he allies with the Fremen to liberate the galaxy from the oppressive Harkonnen empire, responsible for his father’s demise. Joining the stellar cast of Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Stellan Skarsgard are newcomers Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Lea Seydoux.
Sadly, Warner Bros. has not yet greenlit a third instalment. However, Villeneuve will be interested in adapting Herbert’s “Dune Messiah” novel for the screen but with some T&C.
Dune Part 2 is a more than fantastic film and you must watch it on JioCinema from May 21 if you haven’t watched it already.
