‘The End of the F****** World’ fame Jessica Barden has joined the cast of ‘Dune: Prophecy’, Max’s prequel series. She will have a recurring guest star role in this one. Variety first broke the news.
The development of the prequel series first began in 2019, back when it had a different title, “Dune: The Sisterhood.” Based on Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s novel, “Sisterhood of Dune”, the series will take place 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides. It will revolve around two Harkonnen sisters, responsible for creating the fabled sect called Bene Gesserit.
Jessica Barden will portray the young version of Valya Harkonnen, with the elder version of the character being portrayed by Emily Watson. Barden will bring out the character’s forceful and ambitious persona, along with her stubbornness. She will try to do whatever it takes to restore her family’s glory. However, a tragedy alters her path, forcing her to contribute towards the creation of Bene Gesserit.
Barden is best known for playing Alyssa in ‘The End of the F****** World’ series, alongside Alex Lawther. In addition, she has starred in shows like Netflix’s Pieces of Her and Showtime’s Penny Dreadful.
Apart from Jessica Barden, “Dune: Prophecy” stars Emily Watson, Travis Fimmel, Olivia Williams, Mark Strong, Johdi May, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Edward Davis, Chris Mason, and more. Bollywood actress Tabu will also star in this prequel series. Stay tuned for more updates.
