Dune: Prophecy Season 2 Release Not Expected In 2025

Dune: Prophecy Season 2 Release Update: One of the stars of HBO’s Dune: Prophecy has revealed a key update about Season 2. Developed by Diane Ademu-John and Alison Schapker, the series is set 10,000 years before the events of Dune (2021).

Dune: Prophecy focuses on the origins of the Sisterhood (later known as the Bene Gesserit), their influence and rise to power within the Imperium, as well as their personal conflicts, internal struggles, and a unified battle against a prophesied adversary known as the Reckoning. The series also explores the origins of the Atreides and Harkonnen families.

In a recent interview with Collider, Josh Heuston (who plays Constantine Corrino) shared a production update on Dune: Prophecy Season 2. He revealed that filming is expected to begin in August and may continue “through the rest of the year.”

Here’s what Heuston said about Season 2’s production:

“Yes. Definitely in Season 2. We go back, I believe, in August, and then we’re filming through the rest of the year.”

Based on Heuston’s comments, it seems Season 2 won’t arrive in 2025. If it follows the same release pattern as Season 1, which debuted in November 2024, the second season may premiere sometime in late 2026.

The Dune: Prophecy Season 1 finale laid the groundwork for what’s to come. The mystery surrounding Desmond Hart was resolved, and the emperor is no more. Meanwhile, Valya, Ynez, and Kieran are en route to Arrakis—a pivotal location in the Dune universe—where Constantine, who commands the Royal Fleet, has also arrived.

HBO’s Dune: Prophecy stars Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Chloe Lea, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Mark Strong, Josh Heuston, Aoife Hinds, Mark Addy, and more.
