It seems like Dwayne Johnson is everywhere these days. From being a top WWE superstar to being one of the potential candidates for the presidentship of the US, he has touched new heights in his career. Now, he is trending once again after expressing his desire to be the next James Bond.
Johnson is not the only one who wants to portray Ian Fleming’s well-renowned MI6 agent on the big screen. He has to compete against talents like Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, and Henry Cavill in this race.

In his recent interview with Esquire, Johnson stated that he would like to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and former professrional wrestler, Peter Maivia, who played one of the villains in You Only Live Twice. The latter played the role of Osato’s driver and henchman.
The People’s Champion also made it clear that he doesn’t want to portray a villainous character in the next Bond project. He is eyeing to be the leading man in the 007 franchise: “I don’t want to be a villain. Gotta be Bond.”
If this happens, the former WWE champion will be the eighth actor to portray the most famous fictional British spy.
No Time To Die was the last Bond instalment starring Daniel Craig. It has earned more than $700 million on the global box-office. True Detective fame, Cary Joji Fukunaga, helmed the project.
