The latest hot news doing the rounds of Tinseltown is that Dwayne Johnson & Emily Blunt are reuniting for the superhero flick, ‘Ball And Chain’, after recently working together for the first time in Disney’s ‘Jungle Cruise’. Several streamers are in the fray to snag the interesting flick, but in all probability, Netflix is the most likely streaming service to pick it up for release on its platform.
Ball And Chain has been adapted as a movie from the comic series by Scott Lobdell. The comics were first published in 1999, under the same name. Emily V. Gordon, who’s co-written The Big Sick, has adapted the comics for the screen, while Kevin Misher is producing it with Seven Bucks, Johnson’s production company with Dany and Hiram Garcia. Blunt will also co-produce. Emily V. Gordon has also written Apple TV Plus‘ well-received series Little America recently.
Ball And Chain is about a married couple, Edgar and Mallory Bulsonon, who are on the brink of separation, when a strange meteor bathes them in extraterrestrial energies, granting them potent superpowers. The hitch is that their individual superpowers will work only as long as they put their differences aside and work in tandem with each other. So much for separating!
