Grindstone Entertainment and Lionsgate have acquired the rights to ‘The Duel’, an upcoming comedy film starring Dylan Sprouse, in North America, Latin America, and other English-speaking countries. The project marks Sprouse’s debut as an executive producer. Lionsgate will handle the film’s distribution and will release it in July this year.
Led by Dylan Sprouse, ‘The Duel’ boasts a talented cast, consisting of performers such as Patrick Warburton, Hart Denton, Denny Love, Callan McAuliffe, Rachel Matthews, Christian McGaffney, and Maria Gabriela de Faria. The film’s story revolves around a group of friends on the verge of falling apart. They come up with a crazy and nonsensical way to save their group—using dueling. We will also see Woody (McAuliffe) challenging Colin (Sprouse) to a conventional duel after finding out that Colin has been sleeping with his girlfriend. The group will also become entangled with Warburton’s character, who is an antique shop owner and cocaine dealer. The movie will be produced by Gordon Strain, Justin Matthews, Joe Matthews, and Zachary Spicer.
The forthcoming comedy marks the directional debut of Luke Spencer Roberts and Justin Matthews. They are best known for penning down Amazon’s Upgraded.
‘The Duel’ will be Dylan Sprouse’s second feature release of 2024. His ‘Beautiful Wedding’ came out in January this year, which served as a direct sequel to ‘Beautiful Disaster’. Stay tuned for more updates.
