Edgy Korean Drama ‘Celebrity’ Makes Netflix Debut This Week!

Every follower of OTT content must know that in recent times, streaming giant Netflix has been betting big on Korean content. Ever since the smashing success of Squid Game, Netflix has pumped in billions of dollars into creation Korean content for its global audiences.

Upcoming Korean series ‘Celebrity‘ is one such drama that Netflix has commissioned from South Korean content creators. The series is described as a thriller, one of the most well-loved genres in the world of streaming entertainment. ‘Celebrity’ premieres on Netflix worldwide on 30th June, 2023.

The series centres on young woman Seo Ah-ri, who achieves social media stardom overnight. But deadly consequences await her in this glitzy, glamorous world of influencers. The official Netflix synopsis for ‘Celebrity’ reads,
“Fame. Money. Power. One young woman fights to become the next hottest celebrity in the glamorous yet scandalous world of influencers in Seoul”.

Actress Park Gyu-young plays the primary protagonist Seo Ah-ri in ‘Celebrity’. Park Gyu-young is known for being part of two successful Netflix series, ‘It’s Okay To Not Be Okay’ and ‘Sweet Home’. Kang Min-hyuk, Lee Chung-ah, Lee Dong-gun and Jun Hyo-seong are also part of the cast.

‘Celebrity’ is directed by Kim Chul Gyu, from a script written by Kim Yi Young. The series premieres on Netflix worldwide on 30th June, 2023. It will most likely stream in the one-episode per week format.
