Eight Mind-Bending Theories For Season Three of ‘Dark’

By Binged Bureau - Jun 19, 2020 @ 06:06 pm

While fans are waiting for the final season of Dark with a bated breath many have resorted to conjuring wild predictions for what happens next in this sci-fi time-bending thriller. In a show that already has multiple plot lines and several characters it’s hard enough keeping up with them but some people have decoded the trailer and clues from past two seasons to make us ponder on these mind-bending theories!

This article contains spoilers from season one and two.

So here are some of the craziest fan theories for season three:

1. Alternate Reality Connected to Original Timeline

In the last episode of season two, fans saw Martha pick up Jonas in Winden and tell him that she was not who he thought she was. So one theory could be that when something changes in the original timeline an alternate reality is formed. Thus the new !Martha and !Magnus could be the children of !Ulrich and Hannah from the original timeline.

2. Which Reality Helge Doppler Is From

Keen fans have spotted Helge with an injured eye in the trailer for season three which could mean that he is from an alternate timeline of New Martha’s world.

3. Future Timelines Will Be Explored

Until now Dark has only time-travelled to the past as the apocalypse occurs on June 27th, 2020 but with various alternate dimensions coming up there could be a possibility of a future timeline.

4. Adam and Eve

Jonas’s future self is Adam, a time-traveler however Claudia implies that Jonas doesn’t appear in the alternate universe and so neither does Adam. In that case the main character of that world could be Martha as she has been seen wearing Jonas’s yellow coat in the trailer and so she too could have her own future self, Eve.

5. Winden will Be Destroyed

Season three is supposed to be the final season of the show hence many are speculating that in the end Winden will be destroyed from the original timeline hence ending all the troubles that came with it.

6. Time Moves in Reverse

In the trailer we can see Jonas running in reverse as well as Martha’s tears going up instead of down so it’s possible that time actually moves backwards and not forwards in the alternate realities.

7. Hannah’s Pendant

The pendant Jonas found in the lake could be Hannah’s because in the ‘50s she could’ve been murdered by Katharina who wanted to take revenge on her.

8. A Flashback to the Origin

There is another theory wherein the show could also explore the beginning of the time loops and the Sic Mundus and answering questions on the mirror universe as well.

These were some of the crazy theories floating around the Internet so it’s safe to say that fans can expect some more brain-hurting quests and high stakes time travelling from the final season.

Season three of Netflix’s Dark releases on June 27th, 2020.
