Disney Plus and Disney Original Documentary have acquired the rights of Elton John’s documentary package ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and the Years That Made His Legend’ for an undisclosed amount.
Disney+ revealed the news on social media with a picture of Elton John and wrote,
“One of the greatest send-offs in rock-and-roll history. ✨
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and the Years That Made His Legend is coming exclusively to #DisneyPlus!”
As per reports ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ will have a festival run and a limited theatrical release prior to streaming exclusively on Disney+. While the documentary will focus mainly on Elton John’s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour’, it will also consist of unseen concert footage of him over the past 50 years, his hand-written journals along with present-day footages of him and his family.
Alongwith covering his initial five years from 1970 to 1975 when he released some blockbuster albums, ‘Goodbye Yellow Brock Road’ on Disney+ will also cover the final few months of John’s journey on the road and how it all rounded up in his November performance at Dodger Stadium in his final North American show.
