Emma Roberts Set To Produce Netflix’s Vampire Series “First Kill”!

Over the past decade, if one thing has gained popularity and continued to charm people continuously is “vampires”. Yes, you heard us, ever since Twilight and remakes of Dracula, with episodes of vampires in CW’s hit show Supernatural and “Vampire Diaries” vampires have been something that people have loved without any break. The live stories sometimes might get a bit too much, but every one of us is here for the actions and blood-sucking activities.

Keeping that in mind, Netflix has announced that they will be bringing forward a brand new young adult series with vampires. Titled “First Kill”, the series will be starring Sarah Catherine Hook and Imani Lewis in the lead roles. The series is being written by Felicia D. Henderson and author Victoria Schwab and is based on a short story written by Schwab. Emma Roberts will be executive producing the series along with Schwab and Henderson. Felicia D. Henderson will also serve as the showrunner for the 8 episodes series.

Hook plays the role of a teenage vampire named Juliette, who has to face the reality of her being a monster and should get ready to make her first kill. While she prepares for that she comes across Lewis Imani’s character of Calliope, who comes from a family of slayers and is one herself. Both are destined to be the end of each other. Either it is Juliette that kills Cal or the other way around. They realise this won’t be something easy and especially hard when they start falling for each other.

The shoot for the series will start by later this year in Georgia. While Netflix has been very vocal for always being aware and supporting and including diversity in its original, it is specially gaining more of that as Lewis Imani is casted as one of the leads. This news has made a greater impact, since it comes after the Black Heritage Month in February.
