Epic Clash On Cards: Spider-man 3 Likely To Have Marvel Villain Team “Sinister Six”!!!

Barely 5 days have passed since our previous Spider-man article but one of the speculated casting – Thomas Haden Church returning as Sandman, could very well be happening. So far, both Willem Dafoe and Thomas Haden Church are currently in talks to return as the Green Goblin and the Sandman respectively. Both actors played antagonists in the first and the third films respectively in the Sam Raimi – Tobey Maguire Spider-man series. With the (re)inclusion of these two actors in the upcoming Tom Holland version of Spider-man 3, we could very well be looking at the first Villain Team-up on the big screen.

Let’s do a head count shall we – Jamie Foxx will be reprising his role as Electro from ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, while Alfred Molina will be returning to play his character of Doctor Octopus from ‘Spider-Man 2’. Dane Dehaan is in talks to reprise his role as Norman Osbourne/ The Hobgoblin, similar to Dafoe and Church. If they all work out, we are looking at five villains who have all been part of an infamous villain group called the Sinister Six. They have had many different names, but Sinister Six has been the most regularly used one and they are one of the biggest groups to target a single Superhero – Spider-man. Electro, Doc Oc, Green Goblin, Hobgoblin and Sandman are all scary villains and that is not even counting two main villains from the Marvel Cinematic Universe(MCU)/ Sony Spider-man – The Vulture and Mysterio.

Both Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Keaton (who portray The Vulture and Mysterio respectively) have not signed on for this Spider-man movie. But since they are both not dead in the franchise, there is a very good chance that both of them could make an appearance in this film or in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ which is supposed to be the direct sequel to the upcoming Spider-man sequel.

We know Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are set to reprise their roles as “Spider-men” as well as Charlie Cox will be portraying the “Man without fear”, Daredevil. This opens a way for Vincent D’Onofrio to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kingpin. Which sounds too good to be true, but our fingers are crossed. Many comic book fans will know, The Kingpin is not solely a Daredevil villain but also a major Spider-man villain as well.

If Marvel gets everyone they want, we could be looking at an epic clash for the ages (though, not as big as ‘Avengers: Endgame’; atleast, not yet). On one side, we have our heroes – Three “Spider-men”, Doctor Strange and Daredevil. On the other hand (if everyone comes on board), we could be looking at Electro, Doc Oc, Green Goblin, Hobgoblin (possibly even two, if James Franco comes on board), Sandman, Mysterio, The Vulture and The Kingpin. A fight between all thirteen of these characters would be a sight to behold and one worth waiting for. Fingers crossed, and we hope they can all agree and sign on for this feature film (including Keaton and Gyllenhaal).
