ZEE5 had recently announced the return of its edgy YA series RejctX for a second season. The premiere date for Season 2 is not out yet, but there’s another interesting tidbit of information that we’ve got about the new season.
Actress Esha Gupta will be part of the cast of Season 2. She will be one of the new entrants in the show, and will play the role of investigative officer, Officer Renee. This will be Esha Gupta’s debut in the digital space.
As viewers may recall, RejctX Season 1 had ended in a cliffhanger, when protagonist Aarav (Ahmed Masi Wali) had gone missing at the end of the last episode. Looks like it will be Officer Renee who will investigate Aarav’s disappearance on behalf of the school and its Dean (Sumeet Vyas).
RejctX is a coming-of-age story of a bunch of youngsters that meet at an elite Singapore school, called the Jefferson World School. Each of the youngsters has demons to hide, and is a social reject of sorts. The kids comes into their own when they form their very own musical band, specialising in hard-hitting rap.
The series features a star-studded ensemble cast, with Sumeet Vyas, Kubbra Sait, Khalid Siddiqui, Anisha Victor, Ahmed Masi Wali, Ridhi Khakhar, Pooja Shetty, Saadhika Syal, Prabhneet Singh and Ayush Khurrana playing key roles in the series. Most of the actors are expected to return in Season 2.
