Ethan Coen Rolls Out His First Solo Feature Film Without Joel Coen!

Ethan Coen is getting back to direction! Yes. You heard it right. After his brother and long time collaborator Joel Coen‘s directorial after a break, “The Tragedy of Macbeth” shot to critical acclaim, Ethan Coen is planning to get back to his direction cap for Focus Features and Working Title.

According to sources he has co-written the script with his wife Tricia Cooke. No further pivotal plot details are revealed. It is also said that Coen and Cooke are producing the picture with Robert Graf and Working Title’s Tim Bevan.

The Tragedy of Macbeth was Joel Coen’s first solo outing as a director, years after working together with his brother Ethan Coen. Similarly this picture will mark Ethan Coen’s first time directing assignment without his brother. Ethan’s most recently directed picture was the western anthology “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” with his brother for Netflix.

Which earned them both an Oscar nomination for best adapted screenplay as well. This however puts all speculations regarding Ethan Coen’s possible retirement from making films and has rightfully excited his fans. Let us wait and see what magic he would bring to the table because we do miss one of our favourite directors of today.
