Euphoria Season 3: New Filming Plan Teases Time-Jump & Fewer Episodes

Since when did HBO’s Euphoria become synonymous with chaos? Dilemmas like production delays, script modifications, busy schedules of the cast members, and many other factors have plagued the production of Euphoria Season 3. But thanks to Variety, we have received a more reliable update about the highly-anticipated third season.

Debuting in 2019, Euphoria takes inspiration from the popular Israeli miniseries of the same name. Previous seasons have received acclaim from both critics and fans. However, they have also been criticised severely for showing too much “controversial content”. The grand success of Season 2 inspired HBO to green-light Season 3 in February 2022. Since then, Season 3’s production has endured so much, including the Hollywood strikes, Angus Cloud’s tragic loss, scheduling conflicts, and rewrites.

As per the new details from Variety, the filming for the third season may commence in 2025. This comes after Deadline revealed that Season 3’s filming would get delayed due to script rewrites some days ago. The showrunner, Sam Levinson, is currently working on the rewrites. According to Variety, the show’s leading lady, Zendaya, was unhappy with Season 3’s script, which forced Levinson to modify the storylines. If all goes well, the filming’s duration could reach 25 weeks. In addition, the number of episodes in Season 3 will be decreased from eight to six. HBO must start filming Season 3 in early 2025 to roll it out during the final months of the same year.

Euphoria Season 3 may get a five-year time jump from creator Sam Levinson, with particular focus on Jacob Elordi’s Nate Jacobs and Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie Howard. Apart from Elordi and Sweeney, it will feature talents like Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Storm Reid, and more. Stay tuned for more updates.
