Jeb Stuart, the co-creator and executive producer for ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ feels grateful to have had three seasons to tell the stories of Leif, Harald, and Freydís. He says, “I knew from the beginning that I wanted to show the evolution of how three of the most famous Vikings became the icons we know today, and we have done just that.”
In the previous season the warriors went through a lot of bloodshed. From a treacherous journey to Constantinople to a gory face-off, the Vikings’ will to survive is put to the test. But the danger is far from over.
In the trailer released earlier for ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ season 3, Harald’s ominous proclamation hints at the challenges the adventurers will face in this final season. We also see Canute kneeling to Christian leaders and Freydís on the verge of being burnt at the stake. Yet new journeys may be on the horizon too as Leif meets a mapmaker and shares his dream to travel into the far west, while Freydís and her struggling villagers wonder if it’s time to find a new home. But will even one of the trio make it back to Norway alive?
‘Vikings: Valhalla’ is a historical fiction series, which premiered in 2021, and follows a new generation of legendary heroes a hundred years after the Vikings of the History Channel. As tension arises between the Vikings and the English in the early 11th century, these characters inspired by Norse mythology must fight for their own beliefs, territory, and legacy.
While Leo Suter, Sam Corlett and Frida Gustavsson will return to reprise their roles of Harald Sigurdsson, Leif Eriksson and Freydís Eiríksdóttir respectively. In this final season two new characters will be seen, Maniakes (Florian Munteanu), a fearless Byzantine general who answers only to the Emir, and Erik the Red (Goran Višnjić), Leif and Freydís’ father.
