Acclaimed filmmaker duo Pushkar and Gayatri’s 2022 show ‘Suzhal: The Vortex’ created quite a buzz upon its premiere on Prime Video. Now two and half years later the streaming giant has once again teased the previously announced second season of ‘Suzhal’ which is set to come soon on Prime Video.
In the first season we saw Pushkar and Gayatri intricately weaving mystery and thrill with the local community and their traditions, beliefs, and customs while keeping it global in appeal. Directed by Bramma and Anucharan M and set against the backdrop of an annual cultural festival, season one revolved around kidnapping followed by double murder that ended up in a shocking turn of events where the culprit was closer than you thought.
Now that season two of ‘Suzhal’ is imminent here’s all that we know about it.
At the end of season one we saw Nandini (Aishwarya Rajesh) shooting the culprit of her and her sister’s childhood abuse and trauma and she probably faces charges for it. But turns out the lawyer and senior activist defending her in court has been murdered and once again Sakkarai (Kathir) is there to support her and her family.
This time again ‘Suzhal’ will be set against a vibrant and grand cultural festival called the Ashtakaali Festival in the quaint town of Kaaliapattanam. The investigation is under way and just like the last time buried secrets from the past will be unearthed and how they affect the present will be the crux of season two.
