Makers of Mohanlal’s much awaited ‘L2: Empuraan’ have unveiled the first look of the film and it’s a war scene. A sequel to the blockbuster 2019 political thriller drama ‘Lucifer’ helmed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, who made his directorial debut with the film, ‘Empuraan’ will release soon in theatres in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
‘L2: Empuraan’ first look is a rustic, post destruction filled scene with everything on fire. Standing in between two burnt armoured trucks is Mohanlal with his back towards the viewers holding a gun in his hand. In the backdrop we also see a helicopter and a lot of smoke.
‘L2: Empuraan’ is the second instalment of the trilogy where Empuraan means ‘more than a King and less than a God’ with the literal meaning being ‘overlord’. ‘Empuraan’ will not be a continuation of the story seen in ‘Lucifer’, but will explain what happened before and after ‘Lucifer’.
Written by Murali Gopy and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, ‘Empuraan’ stars Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Sachin Khedekar, Alexx O’Nell, and Indrajith Sukumaran among others.
Sujith Vasudev handles the cinematography for ‘Empuraan’ with editing by Akhilesh Mohan. Deepak Dev has composed music for the film. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor and A. Subaskaran, ‘Empuraan’ is backed by Lyca Productions and Ashirvad Cinemas and will release soon in theatres in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
