Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment has signed a multi film deal with Amit Chandra’s Trigger Happy Studios. As part of this collaboration they will focus on creating a variety of projects, with special attention on theatrical releases and will also explore digital content.
It is also revealed that the first venture as part of this deal will be announced soon and the production on the same ia set to begin shortly, most probably in a few months time.
Trigger Happy Studio is the Indian entity of Japan’s global advertising giant Hakuhodo inc. It was launched after the acquisition of MA&TH (India’s marketing agency in entertainment) by Hakuhodo and marked the agency’s expansion strategy into the Asian market. The studio aims to produce, market, and distributes feature films, digital content and international co-productions across various platforms and markets.
Trigger Happy Studio has films and shows like ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, ‘Sanju’, ‘Raazi’, ‘Stree’, ‘Dhadak’, ‘Highway’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Rockstar’, ‘Inside Edge’, ‘Mirzapur’, ‘Breathe’ and more as part of their portfolio.
As for Excel Entertainment, it is a well known production banner known for its works like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, ‘Rock On!’, ‘Don’, ‘Fukrey’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, ‘Gully Boy’, ‘Madgaon Express’, and most recently ‘Mirzapur’ and ‘Angry Young Men’.
