Extraction came in 2020. The Russo Bros were the rage of the time as they had just given one of the biggest hits in cinema history with Avengers: Endgame. They were reuniting with Thor actor Chris Hemsworth and overall it was a huge buzz.
In India too, the makers were highly aggressive. The reasons were obvious. The film was based around Indian characters and the main antagonist was Randeep Hooda.
However, people didn’t love the movie much. They watched the movie in huge numbers, perhaps that’s the reason the movie is still one of the most watched films ever on Netflix.
But, Extraction was nothing but around 2 hours of continuous action with no surprises and too simple a plot. In fact, the whole movie was an extension of the trailer and we got a little to nothing more.
So the reviews too were negative to mixed for the movie. And it is quite evident that the makers didn’t promote the film quite like the first part this time.
Will it affect the movie badly?
We don’t think so. Even when it has negative reviews, Extraction 2 will promote itself because of the success of the first film. Some people may abandon the film but a lot of people will watch Extraction 2 solely because they watched the first part.
So yes, Extraction 2 can succeed its first part in terms of views, even when it doesn’t have the same favorable conditions.
