Fast & Furious 9, or how everyone is calling it F9 will be releasing on the 25th of June, 2021. The movie which is the 9th instalment in the Fast & Furious Saga comes back with exciting new action and car chases. F9, already has seen a release in Hongkong and South Korea, and the movie has done well, making it the 4th highest grossing movie of the year with crossing the 250 million mark globally already. Fans are excited to watch what F9 brings because with the past few movies, the franchise has been upping their game brilliantly. F9 for sure is ready to keep fans happy and satisfied.
So, as the 9th film gets ready to release everywhere, a recent interview from the franchise’s lead actor Vin Diesel has left everyone emotional. Apparently Universal Studios and the creators of the Fast & Furious saga are finally planning to wrap the franchise up. The wrap won’t be with F9, but it will come after two more movies which are at the moment planned for 2023 and 2024 release. So, that means fans are getting F10 and F11 to complete the entire franchise now.
This for sure is emotional, as for someone who has stayed with the movies that started releasing from 2001, one can see the franchise came a long, long way. Many talked about how the later part of the franchise was getting a bit too extreme and unrealistic for what it started with, but even after that the franchise kept on creating amazing records at the box office. Many critics have even said that the end should have come early, but the makers believed there was still so much for them to tell about each of the characters.
As fans, we have seen the movies evolve, from starring in street races with amazingly modified cars, to grand heists that they pulled off, on the way, collecting people that became a part of Fast & Furious family. A great shock for fans came in when, Paul Walker, one of the lead stars, a core member of the Fast family met with an accident and left for his heavenly abode. All this happened during the middle of filming Furious 7 and the creators and actors took the decision of not killing off his reel character but giving him a proper farewell, as he rode off in the sunset at the end of the film.
Ever since Furious 7, many felt like the movies weren’t the same as there were no more Paul Walker’s character Brian accompanying Vin Diesel’s Dom in the movies, but the fans still stayed just like the family value the movie instilled. Brian’s character is still there in the Fast & Furious universe and this time with F9, we might get some more info as Jordana Brewster’s Mia joins the crew once again.
The franchise killed off a few favourite characters like Gisele, played by Gal Gadot and Elena Neves, played by Elsa Pataky among others but one can say their characters got the justice they deserved. When things started to get boring the creators introduced Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s character Hobbs. Everything was going great and the creators thought of bringing it up a notch as they included more cyber tech along with cars in the movie. F7 and F8 saw the entry of Jason Statham and Charlize Theron into the game and with F9, we will be having John Cena in the arena also a fan favourite returns. Along with all these, the creators made sure to honor Paul Walker’s legacy with all of the movies after him.
Like Vin Diesel mentioned there’s no right time but every story has an ending and this franchise too shall see it’s ending one day. With Universal breaking the news, the creators are now reconfiguring stuff so that all the characters arc gets its desired ending by the end of upcoming movies. It’s already getting emotional but the makers have mentioned that F9 shall be the beginning of the franchise’s ending.
So let’s enjoy till it lasts and keep those memories with us. Just like the other movies, we are sure the upcoming movies too will be banger in every possible sense. They sure did start as a street racing crew but ended up becoming one giant family.
