Telugu film ‘Pelli SandaD‘ was a surprise hit when it released in theatres in October 2021. M. M. Keeravani’s melodious music, as well as the refreshing pair of young actors Roshan and Sree Leela contributed to viewers appreciating the youthful entertainer in theatres. Numerous OTT viewers are keenly awaiting the film to release on OTT so that they can watch the surprise hit on their screens in the safety of their homes.
It’s been three months since Pelli SandaD released in theatres. Even after such a long time, there’s no sign of the film’s release on OTT. Repeated queries on the social media pages of Arka Media Works, the producers of the film, have yielded no replies yet. Viewers are getting restless by the day, which can be seen from the avalanche of queries on Twitter, regarding the OTT release date and platform of Pelli SandaD’s premiere on streaming.
There have been rumours circulating on social media that Pelli SandaD will release on Disney Plus Hotstar on 14th January, as a Sankranti release. However, the Hotstar Help handle that replies to Disney Plus Hotstar customers’ queries has outright denied the rumour. As per their consistent replies, Disney Plus Hotstar does not have the streaming rights for Pelli SandaD. So there’s no chance that Pelli SandaD will release on OTT on Disney Plus Hotstar.
All of the above leads us to believe that the makers of Pelli SandaD have not sold the streaming rights for the film to any streaming platform as yet. The reason for this could be anything – either no platform has showed interest in buying the streaming rights for Pelli SandaD; or the money that the top OTT platforms are offering for the streaming rights could be too paltry for the makers to find it lucrative.

Pelli SandaD is directed by debutant director Gowri Ronanki. It features senior actor Srikanth’s son, Roshan Meka, along with Sree Leela in the lead roles. Prakash Raj, K. Raghavendra Rao, Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh, among others, make up the rest of the cast.
