Fallout Star Ella Purnell Joins Horror-Comedy Movie ‘The Scurry’

Prime Video’s Fallout star, Ella Purnell, has joined the cast of The Scurry, an upcoming horror comedy flick from the Welsh actor and director Craig Roberts. The filming has commenced in the United Kingdom. Purnell will lead the film as a park attendant. Her character will be seen taking advantage of her unique skillset and power to survive a group of killer squirrels.

Apart from Purnell, the film’s cast is packed with talents such as Antonia Thomas (Lovesick), Rhys Ifans (House of the Dragon), and Paapa Essiedu (The Lazarus Project). However, Mia McKenna-Bruce and Olivia Cooke have left the project due to scheduling conflicts.

The Scurry’s plot revolves around a duo of pest controllers, who receive a call from a country park cafe to take care of its recent vermin problems. However, things get ugly after a large avalanche of deadly squirrels starts wreaking havoc on the park’s visitors and staff members.

This film will be Roberts’ fourth feature directional project. He has directed movies like Just Jim (2015), Eternal Beauty (2019), and The Phantom of the Open (2021). He rose to worldwide fame after starring in Netflix’s hit road comedy-drama, The Fundamentals of Caring, alongside Paul Rudd and Selena Gomez.

True Bit Entertainment co-produces The Scurry, along with Cliff Edge, Water & Power, Ashland Hill, and Circus Studios, and will take care of its UK distribution. This is what James Scott (one of the executive producers from Circus Studios) said about Ella Purnell’s casting in the film: ”Fallout is the biggest show on the planet right now, so to have the lead actress join our squirrel movie is incredibly exciting for the production team and our worldwide distribution partners.” Stay tuned for more updates.
