Hanu Man needs no introduction to the audience. The movie released earlier this year received widespread critical and commercial acclaim due to its merit in the concept, story and execution. Now that the time for theatricals is gone, the comfort of OTT should ideally be knocking as of now.
But is it?
Nope.
Hanu Man was a massive success on the big screens, but people are still more than excited to watch it on OTT. We already have a notification on the Hindi dub release of Hanu Man but there is no notification whatsoever on the original Telugu audio.
It is indeed a turn-off but it can’t be helped as well. The digital release of the Hindi version of Hanu Man has been set to be on the 16th of March. What about the Telugu release then?
Sadly, there is no official confirmation on this. ZEE5, the platform holding the rights to the Telugu version that the movie would be streaming soon. But, soon is no date.
When the audience showed their outrage at this then the director Prasanth Varma had to tweet on the issue. Although he did not cite the reasons behind the delays, he clarified that it was not intentional.
The power of OTT and the audience is indeed intense.
