After the announcement of Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU as Doctor Doom, fans are divided on whether it has been a good decision or not. Some say that RDJ was the OG Iron Man and he should have never agreed for this role, while others are sure he will make this as iconic as the previous one. Comics readers have definitely opposed to this casting. But some fans have come up with wonderful theories that do not oppose a Doctor Doom resembling our favourite Iron Man.
There is one theory, that Victor Von Doom will just be another variant of Tony Stark in another universe. It is probable that Tony Stark was the anchor being of the timeline and the universe starts decaying so the Avengers decide to bring Stark back from another universe, and realise that they have returned with Doom.
Another theory suggests that Iron Man did not actually die in the End Game, but he used the power of the stones to keep himself alive but does not remember anything. He tries to revive his being, but all he comes up with is an evil persona: Doctor Doom.
The different title cards for the two upcoming Avengers movies too seem to reveal a lot. The first one is green and the second one red and yellow. Some believe that Doom will take possession of Tony’s body in the first film but then Tony comes alive and fights back in the second one. A fan has also theorised that in another timeline, there might be a possibility of bringing Tom Cruise as Iron Man where RDJ plays Doom.
Whatever it may be, if these theories are made into the film, it might be quite an awesome thing to happen.
