Disney+ Hotstar‘s Snowdrop has been streaming for a long time now. Unlike Netflix where a lot of K-Dramas become successful, Disney+ Hotstar is struggling to gain enough attention from the viewers.
But there might be a strong reason behind the same. Needless to say, our Indian film industry is focusing more on Pan India films. Although currently, it is just a gimmick because mere dubbing a film never works. We all know how terribly Valimai performed in Hindi and Gangubai Kathiawadi in Telugu.
But releasing any new content in 5 Indian languages is a new trend that all major films/series are adopting.
But it looks as if Snowdrop missed this great opportunity by dubbing in only Hindi. Fans are constantly demanding Disney+ Hotstar to dub Snowdrop in Tamil and Telugu, possibly in Kannada and Malayalam as well.
But there is no update whatsoever from the platform as of now. Needless to say, it can be a major issue. The series is nowhere close to scoring a buzz against popular Netflix K-Dramas and Disney+Hotstar should never miss it.
They have a very wide user base and they should utilise that potential to compete against Netflix.
