It was a huge shocker when Alia Bhatt was introduced as the new member to the spyverse of Yash Raj films. It was announced that Alia will have a solo movie related to the spyverse: making it the first female led movie.
But netizens seem to be already divided upon the news. Fans don’t seem to be too excited with it. They want solo movies with Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif as well. Katrina Kaif is the first female star in the spy verse, owing to her role in ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, and her role gathered a liking from a huge fandom.
Alia Bhatt is definitely one of the most hyped actresses of Bollywood right now. With recent successes like RRR, Brahmastra, and upcoming bangers like ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ and the Hollywood thriller ‘Heart of Stone’, she is having a great run. So, it is of course a great move to cast her in the spy Verse. But the audience wants something else.
There are no questions on the acting capabilities of Alia Bhatt but Katrina Kaif has set great standards in her movies. But it is not very easy to cast her in a solo movie or even in an origin story. Katrina Kaif played Zoya, an ISI agent in the Tiger franchise. Bollywood doing a film on an ISI agent will not make any sense at all. Same goes with Rubina, played by Deepika Padukone. Rubina too is an ISI agent and thus the demand for a solo movie goes null.
The emotions of fans are understandable. But it is more reasonable to cast a new face in the female led movie of the spy verse. Many Twitter users have expressed their excitement and thrill about the movie and that number is not small too.
