The Film Employees Federation of South India has brought a new set of rules for the Tamil film industry and it is absolutely nonsense. They are setting the new rules for employment issues of cast and crew in the industry.
FEFSI or Film Employees Federation of South India has said that only Tamil actors will be allowed to act in Tamil movies. When all the industries are opting more day by day to make ‘pan-India’ movies and most good films include actors from other industries, it makes no sense to say that outsider actors will not be allowed in Tamil films. Such absurd ideas ultimately do no good to the business but do harm to the industry.
Also, there is one more ridiculous rule introduced by FEFSI. It says that the movies should be made exclusively inside Tamilnadu. The shoots must not be conducted in any other state or any other country. It has been said that the members of FEFSI have been having difficulty in finding jobs in the industry. The federation also has said that any violation in the rules will call for strict actions. The rule set has caused huge controversies and criticism from people inside and outside the industry.
The biggest Tamil hits from recent times have one or more names from outside Tamil cinema: Aishwarya Rai in case of PS1 and PS2, who was actually the soul of the movie, Fahadh Faasil in Vikram, and more. The rules make absolutely no sense and where employment is the concerned the rules should be made with a bit of intelligence and common sense so that people are employed and the quality of movies are not downgraded by setting so many limitations.
