‘Godzilla’ director Gareth Edwards’ has begun shooting for his next film project titled ‘True Love’, the movie’s director of photography Greig Fraser (alongside Oren Soffer) has recently revealed through his Twitter account. In the tweet, he had stated: “BOOOOOM!!!!!. Day one down! An exciting time in the making, but we’re off to the races. Next film after @starwars #Rogueone , #GarethEdwards joined by an incredible bunch of people with an even more incredible script. Cant wait for you all to see what magic we’re cooking up.”
Written and directed by Gareth Edwards, ‘True Love’ is a science fiction genre movie that features a talented cast that includes the likes of the John David Washington (‘Tenet’ star and son of veteran actor Denzel Washington), ‘Eternals’ actress Gemma Chan, ‘Doctor Strange’ actor Benedict Wong, Academy award-winning actress Alison Janney, and actor-comedian Dany McBride, amongst others.
‘True Love’ would be Gareth Edwards’ next directorial film project after a hiatus of more than 6 years, that is, after he had helmed ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ in the year 2016. Prior to that, the filmmaker had directed the ‘Godzilla’ reboot after making his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed independent sci-fi horror flick ‘Monsters’.
Moreover, the addition of an actor of John David Washington’s caliber and screen presence has set high hopes for Gareth Edwards’ next film ‘True Love’. After making short appearances in his father’s films like ‘Malcolm X’ and ‘Devil in a Blue Dress’, the footballer turned actor had later featured in Dwayne Johnson starrer comedy-drama show ‘Ballers’ followed by Christopher Nolan’s mind-bending sci-fi venture ‘Tenet’.
He was last seen in the action thriller movie ‘Beckett’, which came out on the Netflix OTT platform in August last year. Stay tuned to Binged on the latest updates on Gareth Edwards’ ‘True Love’.
