Last month, it was reported that legendary actor Mohanlal has teamed up once again with the talented ‘Drishyam’ director Jeethu Joseph for another mystery thriller film titled ‘12th Man’. Excitement levels are even higher considering the blockbuster actor-director duo’s last cinematic venture was the immensely successful ‘Drishyam 2’.
And earlier today, on the auspicious occasion of the Malayalam New Year, the pooja ceremony for ‘12th Man’ was performed while filming for the Mohanlal starrer mystery-thriller will reportedly commence at Ernakulam from today itself. It is being speculated that the film’s first schedule will be done over a period of three days at Ernakulam. Thereafter, the film’s shoot will reportedly resume on 24th August at Thodupuzha after the end of celebrations for the Onam festival.
While there are obviously no precise plot details at the moment, the events of the film ‘12th Man’ will ostensibly take place over a period of 24 hours. The film is being thought of as a full-on mystery movie that will keep the audiences hooked until the last scene.
The film’s first look poster that was announced by superstar Mohanlal himself a few weeks back, along with the film’s tagline “Unveiling the shadows’ has further upped the curiosity quotient regarding the mystery thriller film’s storyline and other details.
‘12th Man’ has been written by KR Krishnakumar and the film’s cinematographer is Satheesh Kurup. The movie is being produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
Besides ‘12th Man’, Mohanlal’s forthcoming slate of film projects include Priyadarshan’s epic historical war film ‘Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea’, action-drama ‘Aaraattu’, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial ‘Bro Daddy’, and a sequel to ‘Drishyam’ has also been announced.
