Back in 2022 when Netflix unveiled its plan of introducing ads then we knew that it was the beginning of the end of a totally ad-free experience on streaming services. Following the footsteps of Netflix, even Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video revealed their plan for ads which they eventually did.
So the only platform that was totally ad-free by now was AppleTV. Regular readers at Binged are aware that AppleTV is not in its healthiest state and is planning to massively cut on its budget.
The reason? It has spent around $20 Billion on the platform and still, the watchtime of the entire month at AppleTV is less than that of a single day on Netflix.
So what can be the plan ahead?
Introduction of ads of course.
Yes, there are some strong rumours/reports that confirm AppleTV’s apparent plan to introduce ads on its platform.
There are reports that AppleTV has already hired an executive who would look after their ad division. So, don’t be surprised if AppleTV starts playing ads in between films and shows.
As soon as they make it official, we will inform our readers. So, please ensure to keep following Binged for such updates.
