The wait is over for Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt fans. The day is not far when their recently released and exceptionally brilliant film Gangubai Kathiawadi arrives on Netflix. We informed you all in the very beginning that Netflix has bagged the gold of Bhansali’s next as they are bound to generate great views.
So next Tuesday i.e. 26th of April, Gangubai Kathiawadi will finally stream on Netflix India. The film starring Alia Bhatt in the powerful role of Gangubai was released in theatres on 25th February. After a majestic run in theatres, the film garnered a decent collection at the box office though it could do a lot better. Still, it was one of the most anticipated films on Indian OTT and given the magic Bhansali spelt in it, the wait was pretty obvious.
Gangubai was an innocent girl who was dragged into prostitution at a very early age by her own lover. After a lot of trauma, she finally accepts her fate and goes on to become the most powerful madame in the red light area and the overall mafia business of Mumbai in the 1960s. The film garnered immense praises from critics all across the globe and is perhaps the career-defining performance by Alia Bhatt.
