Danish horror film ‘Speak No Evil’ was arguably the best horror movie of 2022. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2022, after which it became one of the most talked about horror films of recent times. ‘Speak No Evil’ released in theatres worldwide later that year, but alas, not in Indian theatres.
Now, after a year and a half of its theatrical release, Indian horror film fans will finally be able to watch ‘Speak No Evil’ on their screens. The movie is gearing up to release on Indian OTT – on Prime Video India, to be more precise. Prime Video India has not revealed a release date for ‘Speak No Evil’ yet, but we guess it should release on the platform in the next week or so.
‘Speak No Evil’ is a Danish film, though the dialogues are mostly in English, with some dialogues also in the Dutch and Danish languages. The horror in ‘Speak No Evil’ has been described as unsettling and disturbing, not to mention raw and devastating. As per critics, the movie builds tension gradually, stacking uncomfortable moments and questionable choices to create genuine terror over time.
The official synopsis for ‘Speak No Evil’ reads – “On a vacation in Toscana, a Danish family instantly becomes friends with a Dutch family. Months later, the Danish couple receives an unexpected invitation. It doesn’t take long before the joy of reunion is replaced with misunderstandings.”
Horror film Speak No Evil is directed by Christian Tafdrup. It stars Morten Burian, Sidsel Siem Koch, Fedja van Huêt, Karina Smulders, Liva Forsberg and Marius Damslev in key roles.
