Prime Video’s ‘Reacher‘ series is one of the most awaited ones on the streamer. The series is adapted from Lee Child’s blockbuster Jack Reacher books. Now, Prime Video has revealed the first trailer for ‘Reacher’, along with a release date for the series. Fans of action thrillers will be delighted to read that Reacher arrives worldwide on Prime Video on 4th February.
‘Reacher’ stars hunky actor Alan Ritchson as the titular ex-military police investigator, Jack Reacher. Season 1 of the series is based on ‘Killing Floor’ Lee Child’s first book in the Jack Reacher series of novels. The action-packed clip for Reacher hints that the series will be one helluva blast to watch, especially for action junkies. Stylised hand-to-hand combat action scenes make up the bulk of the sequences in the trailer for ‘Reacher’.
Alan Ritchson looks quite compelling as Jack Reacher. It is inspired casting on the part of the makers of the Prime Video series. For those not in the know, Tom Cruise had essayed the role of Jack Reacher in the movies based on the character. One of the major sticking points for fans of the book series, as well as its author Lee Child himself, was Tom Cruise’s height. The character of Jack Reacher is supposed to be an imposing 6 feet 5 inches, while Tom Cruise famously stands at 5 feet 7 inches.
As per Lee Child, the character of Jack Reacher is quite imposing; so imposing that when he walks into the room, people will become instantly nervous for a minute. Alan Ritchson, with his 6 feet 4 inches and 230 pound physique, matches the character more closely. After watching the trailer, we must concur that there couldn’t have been a better choice than Alan Ritchson to play Jack Reacher.
Dedicated viewers of TV shows will know Alan Ritchson as the actor from HBO Max’s show, ‘Titans’. He’s also played Aquaman in the 2000s show, ‘Smallville’. The cast of Reacher also includes Malcolm Goodwin as Oscar Finlay, Willa Fitzgerald as Roscoe Conklin, Chris Webster as KJ, Hugh Thompson as Baker, Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, Harvey Guillén as Jasper, Kristin Kreuk as Charlie, Currie Graham as Kliner Sr., Marc Bendavid as Hubble, Willie C. Carpenter as Mosley, Maxwell Jenkins as Young Reacher, and Bruce McGill as Mayor Teale.
Jack Reacher is an ex-military police investigator who makes the shift to civilian life. He’s a drifter, carries no phone, lives a thread-bare life on the road. When Reacher arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, he is arrested for a series of confounding murders. The cops produce eyewitnesses who place Reacher at the scene of the crime. While he works to prove his innocence, a deep-seated conspiracy begins to emerge, one that will require Reacher’s keen mind and hard-hitting fists to deal with. One thing above all is for sure: They picked the wrong guy to take the fall.
While the plot of Reacher is thrilling, even more exciting is the fact that Reacher comes from Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora, of Scorpion and Prison Break fame. That alone is reason enough to watch Reacher when it premieres on Prime Video on 4th February. Nick Santora is also the executive producer and showrunner for Reacher. The series produced by Amazon Studios, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Television.
All eight episodes of the ‘Reacher series’ will premiere on Prime Video on Friday, February 4 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Have a look at the trailer of the upcoming series –
